About the Gulf Islands

The Gulf Islands of British Columbia are fabulous for a weekend retreat or as a vacation destination.

The Gulf Islands are known for their mild climate, dramatic coastlines, magnificent flora and fauna, friendly people and easy-going lifestyle.

The communities have a diverse population of artists, artisans, musicians, and non-mainstream people of various persuasions, some of them world-famous!

Some northern Gulf Islands have (very rarely) seen wolves, cougars and bears but the southern Gulf Islands have nothing more dangerous than bees!

There are so many deer, gardeners must put up fences to protect their vegetables; you are guaranteed to see at least a few!

There are good chances to see seals, sea lions, otter, mink, eagles, herons, turkey vultures, and hummingbirds
(it's a birders paradise!) and, in magical moments, orcas and other whales.
